About Toronto Criminal Lawyer Mark Zinck's Background
Attorney Mark Zinck was born and raised in the coal mining town of Sydney, Nova Scotia. He had two significant influences in his life: his mother, Donna Zinck, and the town of Sydney. Both have contributed to his successful legal career. His mother taught him to stand up for what was right and to help those in need. As for the influence of his home town, Sydney, NS, the benefit lay in his observance of the limited opportunity there. The hardships and hard times he witnessed motivated him to achieve great goals within his lifetime.Since childhood, Mark Zinck has been guided by a simple philosophy: “A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits”. At the age of 26, Zinck headed to Toronto to start a new life. When people comment that practising law in Toronto must be difficult, Zinck replies that it is nothing compared to a life working in a coal mine. He keeps a chunk of coal as a constant reminder of his beginnings. As a self-made man, he worked while attending undergrad at St. Thomas University and graduated from Dalhousie Law School as the youngest of his class at the age of 24.
Asked why he chose law as a career, Zinck says without hesitation: “I just wanted to help people”. Seeing how easily a criminal accusation can destroy a person's life, Zinck represents his clients with nothing less than the same winner’s attitude that enabled him to overcome the tremendous challenges of his past.
Like many Torontonians, Attorney Zinck's strong work ethic and will to succeed has enabled him to achieve a better life for himself. With an unwavering will to succeed, he passionately helps the accused defend their livelihoods, their families, and their future.
His legal opinions have been featured in both local and national media publications, including:
